All Blacks Rugby Star Dan Carter Weds

One of New Zealand’s All Backs premiere rugby stars finally tied the knot with his girlfriend Honor Dillon at an exclusive lakeside venue called Lake Timara Lodge on Friday.

The NZ Herald website reported that the beautiful bride wore a flowing ivory dress with a plunging front, a cutaway back and a regal two metre train.

In total, 100 guests were in attendance, including All Blacks of the past and present such as Richie McCaw and coach Graham Henry.

Carter’s four grooms, one of which was All Blacks scrumhalf Jimmy Cowan, wore grey suits with long black tails.

The couple exchanged traditional wedding vows and several hymns were sung during their 30-minute ceremony. Adding magic to the special event, the bridal party sat in front of a “blaze of peonies and oriental lilies a metre deep”.

At 10pm, everyone moved outside to enjoy a stunning fireworks display that lit up the sky. Some guests left soon after, while others partied on until 1am. Many said that the couple’s nuptials had scored “a perfect 10”.

Princess Diana Wedding Attire Auctioned

An exact ‘just in case’ replica of Princess Diana’s famous wedding dress and accompanying shoes have sold at auction for the grand sum of £84,000.

Commissioned by Princess Diana herself, the back-up dress was made by David Emanuel, who was also responsible for the original lavish gown.

It had been in the possession of Madame Tussauds in London before being sold to a private collector for £48,000 by a fashion museum in Chile.

The size 6.5 shoes that complete the gown are also identical to those worn at the 1981 Royal Wedding. As part of their intricate design they include an interwoven C and D on their sole. They were sold for £36,000 by their original designer as Diana’s mother had not paid for the spare pair.

Speaking of the shoes, auctioneer Kerry Taylor said: “They are identical to the ones Diana wore for her wedding – absolutely the same. She could have changed the left or the right and you wouldn’t notice the difference. They were made in case her first pair got stained or damaged, or something happened to them on the day.”

Cunard Cruise Ships Set for Marriages at Sea

The cruise ship operator Cunard has long been a popular honeymoon choice for newlywed Britons, but they are now making a historic shift to the wedding industry itself by permitting couples to marry at sea.

Weddings on cruise ships are becoming increasingly popular, with demand for them having risen by as much as 60% in the last decade.

Now, for an estimated £1,500, love birds can tie the knot during a spectacular cruise from Southampton to Bermuda.

Nevertheless, there have been some difficulties in navigating legalities for British cruise ship weddings.

A quirk in marriage laws means this move will do way with 170 years of maritime history, as the registered home of their luxury liners has had to be shifted from Southampton to Bermuda. This is because British law does not allow ocean-going ships to be used for marriages because they are not accessible for members of the public who want to object during the ceremony. The government is however reviewing this legal tradition.

The three Cunard vessels due for floating weddings can carry up to 2,600 passengers and are also home to some quintessential British bars and restaurants for wedding receptions.

Designer Describes Twilight Wedding Dress

As fans prepare for the magical Twilight wedding to screen in the upcoming ‘Breaking Dawn’ release, the top secret gown that Bella will wear has been the subject of much speculation and anticipation.

Famous designer Carolina Herrera, the creator of the stunning wedding dress, has finally shed some light on what to expect.

She commented: “The inspiration became a little bit by the book… the description of the book, and the magic and the moment that is the wedding and also about her [Bella's] personality which is very important in a wedding gown. She is this very innocent girl that is believing in her first true love and there is romance and there is fantasy and mystery. Everything so I took all that into consideration.”

While the exact details are still a closely guarded secret (the dress was protected by military-like security during filming), it has been reported that it’s made of lace and satin, features 100 buttons down the back and has long sleeves.

In addition, the Twilight book describes Bella’s bridal gown as an early 1900s design that’s ‘just stepped out of an Austen movie’, so it will be suitably classic in style.

The same kind of approach is reflected in Herrera’s Autumn / Winter 2012 bridal collection, which features nipped-in waists flowing into gorgeously full and flowing skirts.

Bright Wedding Day for TV3’s Martin King

TV3 celebrity Martin King and beloved partner of 13 years Jenny McCarthy were graced with blue skies on their wedding day yesterday.

As one of TV’s best-known weather forecasters, Mr King was not surprised by the good weather. He commented: “I’ve been studying the long-range weather forecast for 10 days now, and I couldn’t believe our luck when I realised we were going to get a sunny day.”

The couple held their wedding ceremony and reception in Killashee House Hotel in Naas, Co Kildare.

Over 100 guests attended the special day, including many of TV3′s best-known faces who all paid tribute to their much-loved colleague.

The couple’s five children also played their part: Ms McCarthy’s son Dean (from her previous relationship) gave her away; Martin’s children from his previous relationship, Victoria and James, did readings at the ceremony and the couple’s own children Matthew and Alex carried the rings down the aisle.

Since the couple met 13 years ago when both worked on Dublin radio station 98fm, the Irish city’s hotspots where their romance bloomed were featured on the wedding reception table titles, including Club 92, The Pink Elephant, Annabel’s and Tamangos.

The happy newlyweds are now flying to the Canaries for their honeymoon.

Singer CoCo Lee Marries in Style

Popular Taiwan singer married her fiancé, wealthy Canadian Bruce Rockowitz, in lavish style last week.

The traditional Jewish wedding ceremony was held at a luxurious hotel this past Thursday, followed by a further opulent wedding celebration on the Friday at Shaw Studios in Hong Kong.

The 36-year-old singer’s nuptials included star performers taking the stage such as the Black Eyed Peas, the Marianne Bennett Band, Bruno Mars and even Lee herself.

The stage at Shaw Studios was professionally decorated and lit; it also featured a revolving sculpture of Lee and her 53-year-old husband’s initials “CB” as the centrepiece. Apparently it took 450 people seven days to set up the opulent party venue.

Of some 400 guests, celebrities in attendance included Tommy Hilfiger, Elva Hsiao, Jaycee Chan and Bowie Tsang.

Speaking to reporters after her wedding celebrations, Lee, who had been dating Rockowitz since 2003, said she is in “no hurry” to have children and confirmed that she would continue her singing career as she is happiest on stage.

Beach Weddings Now Available in Bournemouth

Following being granted council permission to conduct weddings on the beach, the seaside resort of Bournemouth in Dorset is taking their first bookings at a specially made chapel.

Now that the official paperwork has been completed, the Beach Chapel will be open for weddings between April and October.

The Bournemouth Beach Chapel is the first in the UK to be able to offer couples the opportunity to have a legally binding marriage ceremony on the beach. It is hoped they will be able to lure couples to celebrate their nuptials locally rather than flying off to sunny destinations such as the Caribbean, Maldives and Europe.

In order to comply with UK law, a marriage ceremony must be conducted in a “permanent covered building”. This caused a debate over whether or not the beach chapel met these guidelines and delayed its approval.

Nevertheless, the official green light has finally been achieved. Packages start from as little as £999, making a Bournemouth beach wedding substantially more affordable than a beach wedding abroad, not to mention the cost of having to fly guests to a chose resort.

This will be the second marriage for both – Hurley was married to businessman Arun Nayer for four years before ending it last June, while Warne had a previous 10 year marriage before splitting with his wife Simone in 2006.

Paul McCartney Begins Wedding Plans

It has been officially announced that former Beatle Paul McCartney and his American heiress fiancée Nancy Shevell have begun their wedding preparations.

Reports claim that the special day will take place within weeks, if not sooner. The couple are said to be getting married in an intimate ceremony attended only by close friends and family at McCartney’s beautiful and spacious English estate.

Following the nuptials, the newly-weds also plan to throw a big bash for their friends in New York.

Ms Shevell is currently vice president for her family’s transport conglomerate there, but she will relocate to her fiancé’s native England while making regular trips back to the US. McCartney meanwhile is still enjoying making music and has even said he would play at the 2012 Olympic Games if asked.

This will be the third time McCartney has tied the knot, while Ms Shevell was formerly married to wealthy lawyer Bruce Blakeman.

The couple have been dating for four years. McCartney, 68, proposed to Shevell, 51, earlier this month in California with a five carat, $650,000 ring. She described the band as a vintage 1925 engagement solitaire.
