Nikki Reed Announces Wedding Plans

Twilight star Nikki Reed has announced plans are underway to marry her former American Idol contestant Paul McDonald.

The official wedding date and location have not as yet been revealed, but the couple are expected to tie the knot soon.

Ms Reed has however confirmed that the location has been secured, and that she has already chosen her maid of honour – long time friend and actress , who starred in the movie called Spy Kids.

Nikki has also revealed that she has picked her wedding dress for the special day, but is refusing to share further details with the public or even her fiancée as she does not want to spoil the surprise.

Nevertheless, it is predicted that she will opt for a romantically soft and pale colour scheme for her gown.

The couple have said that they’re both taking a great interest in the planning of the nuptials and are thoroughly enjoying it. This makes a nice break from tradition where the bride mostly takes responsibility for the multitude of tasks to be completed before the big day.

Spanish Duchess Marries at 85

One of Spain’s most eccentric and wealthy aristocrat’s, the Duchess of Alba, has tied the knot at the age of 85 to a civil servant 25 years her junior named Alfonso Diez.

Crowds gathered outside the southern Spanish city of Seville’s Duenas Palace – just one of several luxurious residences owned by the billionaire Duchess.
It was a relatively intimate ceremony, attended by her family and a few friends. A flamenco singing troupe, at least two bullfighter guests and innumerable bunches of roses, sunflowers and carnations formed part of the celebration.

The Duchess’s inherited wealth is estimated at up to €3.5 billion. There have been numerous reports about how her children were against the marriage, however she won through by distributing her wealth to them and her fiancée also relinquished any rights to her fortune.

Commenting on her husband earlier this year, the Dutchess said: ”Alfonso doesn’t want anything. All he wants is me.”

Cries of ”Guapa!” or ”Good-looking!” welcomed the grand lady when she appeared at the palace gates for the ceremony, dressed in a pink wedding dress with a green ribbon around her waist. She responded by dancing a few spontaneous flamenco steps.

Having been widowed twice before, third time seems to be the charm for the sprightly aristocrat.

Liz Hurley and Shane Warne Engaged

Ex model Liz Hurley and cricketer Shane Warne are now set to tie the knot as early as this winter after the question was popped this past Friday during the Alfred Dunhill pro-am Golf Championship.

The accepted proposal was confirmed when Hurley was seen the following day sporting an impressive sapphire and diamond ring on her wedding finger which is estimated to have cost in the region of £50,000.

A spokesperson for Liz Hurley also confirmed on Saturday that the couple had got engaged the previous evening. While no further details have been confirmed, there is speculation that the pair could marry as early as this winter in Warne’s native Australia.

Liz and Shayne first got together after meeting at Goodwood in July last year, however they kept their relationship secret until officially announcing they were an item in December.

This will be the second marriage for both – Hurley was married to businessman Arun Nayer for four years before ending it last June, while Warne had a previous 10 year marriage before splitting with his wife Simone in 2006.

Molly Sims Marries Hollywood Producer

In an intimate affair at Napa Valley, California yesterday, supermodel turned actress Molly Sims wed film producer Scott Stuber.

The couple tied the knot infront of celebrity guests that included Josh Duhamel and his wife, Black Eyed Peas singer, Fergie.

Sims, now 38, wore an elegant dress by designer Marchesa and jewels by. Her groom wore a classic Tom Ford suit.

The couple got engaged on May 20 and have tied the knot just four months later. Stuber presented his bride-to-be with a stunning Diana von Furstenberg engagement ring that he helped design. He also flew her parents on a private jet to share in the proposal celebration.

Sims, a former Sports Illustrated model who shot to stardom as an actress on the hit NBC show Las Vegas, is currently starring in made-for-TV movie Shredd and is soon launching her jewellery line Grayce by Molly Sims. She also has several films due out next year, including Battleship, which co-stars Rihanna.

Her new husband Stuber is best known for producing hit movie Love And Other Drugs, The Break Up and Role Models.

Saif and Kareena to Tie the Knot Next Year

The hottest couple in Bollywood are causing a stir with talk of marriage next year.

While actors Saif Ali Khan and his girlfriend have generally been tight lipped about their relationship, an exclusive interview with NDTV revealed that Saif is looking forward to tying the knot with Bebo and will announce the wedding date after the release of his new movie ‘Agent Vinod’.

The 41-year-old Bollywood star is keeping fans guessing by saying that he wants to focus on his movie project for the moment before releasing more details.

Nevertheless, rumours about Kareena Kapoor’s wedding outfit are already rife. She is said to be making frequent trips to Delhi for fittings with popular fashion designer Ritu Kumar.

Further rumours indicate that Manish Malhotra will be the designer for Kareena as they are friends. Saif’s mother Sharmila Tagore also has an old association with Kumar and reportedly wants her to design the wedding dresses for her future daughter-in-law.

What’s more, the dupatta Sharmila wore on her wedding day will reportedly be incorporated in Bebo’s wedding attire since the family wants a royal traditional look for Kareena on her special day.

Royal Wedding Sets World Record

The Royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on April 29 at London’s Westminster Abbey has now entered the Guinness Book of World Records after being watched by 72 million online viewers.

It has earned the title of ‘Most Live Streams for a Single Event’ in their annual publication.

In addition to this award, the balcony kiss between William and Catherine at Buckingham Palace on their special day was recently voted the UK’s best loved TV moment in a poll by Samsung Freesat+ PVR.

The newlyweds thrilled the crowds and a worldwide TV audience which is estimated to have reached two billion with their now-famous kiss.

William turned to his beautiful bride and said: “Kate, shall we? Shall we kiss. Come on, OK? The kiss.”

After they briefly touched lips, William stood back, smiled, and asked her: “That OK?”

The crowd however cheered for more by chanting “kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss”, prompting the prince to say to Kate: “Another kiss! One more? Let’s give them another one. I love you. One more kiss – go on, come here.”

This second kiss lasted 1.25 seconds before the Duchess pulled away with a big smile on her face for the assembled crowd lining The Mall below.

William is then said to have ended their public display of affection, saying: “That’s it, no more, I’m embarrassed.”

Eric Clapton Performs at Daughter’s Wedding

Famous guitarist and blues singer Eric Clapton gave his daughter Ruth away in marriage and also officiated as the wedding singer on the special day.

Ruth Patricia Clapton and her fiancé Dean Bartlett tied the knot at St Mary Magdalen Church in Ripley. The celebration that followed was an intimate event in a marquee on the grounds of Clapton’s Surrey mansion, with 150 guests in attendance.

His three daughters Julie, Ella and Sophie from his current marriage to Melia McEnery, acted as flower girls.

Vidal Sassoon-trained hairdresser Ruth, once labelled Eric Clapton’s ‘secret’ daughter, surprised her groom by singing Use Somebody by The Kings of Leon, with her superstar father performing backing.

A friend of the couple said: “She’s got a good voice and has sung with her father before.”

Ruth’s mother is former record studio boss Yve Kelly. She had a year-long romance with Clapton when she was working for Beatles’ producer Sir George Martin on the island of Montserrat in the Eighties.

Ruth, 26, has been dating aspiring architect Dean Bartlett for the past three years. The newlyweds are now on a honeymoon cruise aboard Clapton’s yacht in the Adriatic.

A guest commented: “It was a delightful family wedding and with Clapton playing at the reception, you couldn’t have found a better wedding singer anywhere in the world.”

Fashion Icon Lagerfeld on Royal Wedding

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld has given his critique of the Royal Wedding fashion in an interview with a French television network.

On the positive side, he praised the integration of Duchess Catherine into the Royal family and said it has helped stir people’s interest in them again: “Royalty is very trendy. People are excited by it. There is no political ideology for the moment, so they have to turn to something they can identify with.”

He was impressed with Catherine’s choice of gown, designed by Sarah Burton, for her special day: “It’s a bridal gown of very refined detail, much more refined than the one Diana wore. Catherine’s dresses are always very elegant. It’s very pretty and relatively classic with a little touch of the 1950s that recalls Marilyn Monroe or Queen Elizabeth II’s dress. The lace is pretty, especially the embroidered veil, and the tiara not too high. It’s ravishing and the length of the train is perfect.”

Unfortunately, eccentric Lagerfeld made some searing remarks about the general fashion sense at the Royal nuptials, claiming the event was dominated by women with “bad proportions, ugly hats and short skirts on fat legs.”

Mark Ronson Marries Model Fiancée in France

DJ and music producer Mark Ronson, who shot to fame through his work with Amy Winehouse, has tied the knot with his model fiancée Josephine de la Baume in France.

The glamorous two-day ceremony in the small French town of Aix-en-Provence was attended by celebrities such as model Kate Moss and singer Lily Allen.

Ronson wore a pink candy-striped suit complete with Ray-Ban sunglasses at the nuptials, while de la Baume wore a low-cut gown by American designer Zac Posen, creator of the wedding dress featured in the upcoming film, Breaking Dawn.

In an interview with ASOS Magazine, she commented on Zac Posen and the gown he designed for her: “He’s an amazing friend and I love his dresses, they’re so well fitted. I’m really excited and he’s so excited about it.”

The fashionable couple first met in 2009. Ronson popped the question to his girlfriend in New York earlier this year. The newlyweds now plan to split their time between Paris and New York, with trips to London.

Josephine de la Baume first became known through the modelling she did for London-based lingerie company Agent Provocateur.

Kiss Star Simmons to Finally Marry Fiancé

Flamboyant Kiss front man Gene Simmons has finally set a date to tie the knot with his partner of 27 years, Shannon Tweed.

Although the full details have not yet been released, the pair have confirmed they will walk down the aisle on October 1st at an ‘iconic Beverly Hills hotel’.

The 62-year-old rock star and the 54-year-old former Playboy Playmate first met in 1984 and began living together the following year. They have two children – Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19.

The entire family is currently starring in the reality show titled Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Gene proposed on the season finale. The new season will open with the lead up excitement and preparations for the October 1 wedding ceremony. It is due to air on October 4 on A&E.

Simmons saw immense fame in the mid to late 1970s on the basis of the group’s elaborate appearance and live performances. Kiss has been awarded 24 gold albums, which is the most of any American rock band to date.

The soon-to-be married couple, who live in Beverly Hills, have both had some high-profile relationships before they met nearly three decades ago. Gene was most notably linked to Cher and Diana Ross, while Shannon once dated and Canadian Football League player Ron Foxx.
