Anne Hathaway Overheard Planning Wedding

According to a new source, Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway, who announced her engagement to fiancé Adam Shulman earlier this week, is reportedly already planning her wedding.

An onlooker told the New York Post that the couple attended La Esquina restaurant in New York with a friend on Monday night, where they were overheard “excitedly discussing ideas about their nuptials”.

The eavesdropping onlooker further claims that Anne and Adam said they are considering a “non-traditional ceremony with co-ed bridesmaids and groomsmen”. They were also reportedly talking about incorporating wine tasting into the special day.

The lovebirds were further said to be “very touchy-feely” during their dinner, and were seen kissing throughout their meal.

Anne, 29, was previously involved in a highly publicised break-up with Italian real estate developer Raffaello Follieri in 2008. During a business scandal at the time, he pleaded guilty to 14 counts of money laundering, conspiracy and wire fraud.

The actress seems to have made the right choice this time with partner Adam, and fans will be looking forward to the official date for their wedding.

Cunard Cruise Ships Set for Marriages at Sea

The cruise ship operator Cunard has long been a popular honeymoon choice for newlywed Britons, but they are now making a historic shift to the wedding industry itself by permitting couples to marry at sea.

Weddings on cruise ships are becoming increasingly popular, with demand for them having risen by as much as 60% in the last decade.

Now, for an estimated £1,500, love birds can tie the knot during a spectacular cruise from Southampton to Bermuda.

Nevertheless, there have been some difficulties in navigating legalities for British cruise ship weddings.

A quirk in marriage laws means this move will do way with 170 years of maritime history, as the registered home of their luxury liners has had to be shifted from Southampton to Bermuda. This is because British law does not allow ocean-going ships to be used for marriages because they are not accessible for members of the public who want to object during the ceremony. The government is however reviewing this legal tradition.

The three Cunard vessels due for floating weddings can carry up to 2,600 passengers and are also home to some quintessential British bars and restaurants for wedding receptions.

Twilight Vampire Fans Beat Bella to the Altar

Bromborough locals Victoria and Eric, both avid fans of the Twilight saga, relived their vampire Halloween wedding as they watched Bella and Edward tie the knot in the latest Breaking Dawn film.

Erik Downie, 36, a civil servant, and Victoria, 30, a biomedical scientist, not only married in black this past Halloween, they also wore specially made fangs.

Victoria commented “We’ve seen all the Twilight movies and really enjoyed Bella and Edward’s love story so it’s great they finally got married. People might think we’re weird having a vampire wedding but we both love vampires and think every-one should choose how they want to get married. It was our day and the memories will remain with us forever.”

The eccentric couple first met while working in a National Rail Enquiries call centre in 2000 and found out they shared a childhood love of vampire films.

Three years later, the pair got engaged and decided to marry after they moved into their first flat.

Victoria added: “At weekends we dress in Gothic outfits and fangs and go to clubs where everyone dresses like us. We all do boring nine-to-five jobs so it makes our lives a bit more interesting.”

Designer Creates Human Hair Wedding Dress

Seamstress Thelma Madine, who rose to fame on Channel 4’s My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, has taken bizarre bridal wear to the next level with a gown made of human hair.

The eccentric creation will retail for no less than £50,000. It was created with 250m of hair extensions, numerous individual hair wefts as well as 1,500 crystals and 12 underskirts.

Eight people from Nico (the bridal store owned by Madine) worked on the 95kg (15st) dress, alongside stylists from hair salon Voodou.

In addition, the unforgettable gown won the Alternative Miss Liverpool pageant on Saturday.

Ms Madine commented on her aspirations for the dress: “I’d be overwhelmed if someone like Lady Gaga would consider wearing it. In fact, we would be more than happy for her to wear it on her next tour. It’s a unique creation, just like her, and I think it would be a hair match made in heaven!”

Nevertheless, while extrovert performers might be tempted to buy the unique garment, most ordinary people might find their wedding day already a little too hairy without the need for such an extravagant creation.

Designer Describes Twilight Wedding Dress

As fans prepare for the magical Twilight wedding to screen in the upcoming ‘Breaking Dawn’ release, the top secret gown that Bella will wear has been the subject of much speculation and anticipation.

Famous designer Carolina Herrera, the creator of the stunning wedding dress, has finally shed some light on what to expect.

She commented: “The inspiration became a little bit by the book… the description of the book, and the magic and the moment that is the wedding and also about her [Bella's] personality which is very important in a wedding gown. She is this very innocent girl that is believing in her first true love and there is romance and there is fantasy and mystery. Everything so I took all that into consideration.”

While the exact details are still a closely guarded secret (the dress was protected by military-like security during filming), it has been reported that it’s made of lace and satin, features 100 buttons down the back and has long sleeves.

In addition, the Twilight book describes Bella’s bridal gown as an early 1900s design that’s ‘just stepped out of an Austen movie’, so it will be suitably classic in style.

The same kind of approach is reflected in Herrera’s Autumn / Winter 2012 bridal collection, which features nipped-in waists flowing into gorgeously full and flowing skirts.

Couples Flock to Tie the Knot on 11/11/11

With today’s date being 11/11/11 – a memorable occurrence that only happens once a century – wedding fever has been celebrated around the world.

Two of the most popular destinations have been Las Vegas in the US, and the UK’s world famous wedding location in the Scottish Borders town of Gretna and the adjoining village of Gretna Green.

An impressive total of 53 couples said “I do” in Gretna , which accounted for 51 weddings and two civil partnerships. Many lovebirds had flown in from as far afield as New Zealand, Canada and Germany to exchange their vows in the area’s seven wedding venues.

The first newlyweds at Gretna Registration Office today were Rob and Lorraine Taylor, from Coventry. The pair boosted the unforgettable day and date by exchanged their rings at precisely 11am.

A delighted Mr Taylor, 57, commented: “Everything just fell into place for us, the number on our wedding registration form was 1111 and we chose the 11th track on a CD for the ceremony music.”

His bride said: “It was all just meant to be. The date didn’t have a special significance for us before; we just had it in our heads. We love number one, we’re both very competitive and we always like to win, so having all the ones was a really good thing.”

Bright Wedding Day for TV3’s Martin King

TV3 celebrity Martin King and beloved partner of 13 years Jenny McCarthy were graced with blue skies on their wedding day yesterday.

As one of TV’s best-known weather forecasters, Mr King was not surprised by the good weather. He commented: “I’ve been studying the long-range weather forecast for 10 days now, and I couldn’t believe our luck when I realised we were going to get a sunny day.”

The couple held their wedding ceremony and reception in Killashee House Hotel in Naas, Co Kildare.

Over 100 guests attended the special day, including many of TV3′s best-known faces who all paid tribute to their much-loved colleague.

The couple’s five children also played their part: Ms McCarthy’s son Dean (from her previous relationship) gave her away; Martin’s children from his previous relationship, Victoria and James, did readings at the ceremony and the couple’s own children Matthew and Alex carried the rings down the aisle.

Since the couple met 13 years ago when both worked on Dublin radio station 98fm, the Irish city’s hotspots where their romance bloomed were featured on the wedding reception table titles, including Club 92, The Pink Elephant, Annabel’s and Tamangos.

The happy newlyweds are now flying to the Canaries for their honeymoon.

Couple Wed in Halloween Themed Haunted House

A new trend could be emerging which would give new meaning to ‘wedding day jitters’ – Halloween nuptials have taken place this year in a haunted house in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Doing away with sweet romance and elegant glamour, Max Coffman and Sheri Whitt exchanged vows in the presence of ghouls and vampires at a venue called Nightmare on 13th.

Bride Cheri commented: “We met on Halloween, and so I thought what a perfect place to be married – inside a haunted house.”

She added: “I love it. I don’t think it’s creepy. I love the idea of Halloween, and it’s my favourite time of year. And for us, if people think it’s creepy, well, it’s what we want to do.”

No less than the Grim Reaper himself officiated at the couple’s Halloween ceremony, and even their wedding rings were brought out in a tiny coffin.

The newly-weds have not said where they will be celebrating their honeymoon – one can only imagine a location that the Addams Family would approve of…

Vera Wang Shocks with Dark Bridal Gowns

Prestigious designer Vera Wang shocked even the fashionista’s with the exhibition of her Fall 2012 Collection of bridal gowns at New York’s bridal fashion week.

The Queen of wedding couture has introduced a range of gowns in her signature colour – black. While initially there were looks of disbelief at the initial black and beige wedding dress that appeared decidedly like something out of the Adam’s Family as it hit the runway, Wang’s genius for bridal design won through as the collection unfolded.

The audience quickly recovered and became increasingly appreciative of the beautiful and unforgettable bridal dresses.

Many style guru’s have said that Wang’s revolutionary collection is also a sign of the modern times – the blushing brides of traditional weddings are giving way to marriages which increasingly feature gay couples or women who are more mature and successful in their own right. People are increasingly looking to make new rules to suit their individual tastes.

This opens the doors to new cutting-edge traditions using non-white wedding gowns. And if Vera Wang’s collection proves successful, other designers will surely be jumping on the bandwagon to start a whole new trend.

Beach Weddings Now Available in Bournemouth

Following being granted council permission to conduct weddings on the beach, the seaside resort of Bournemouth in Dorset is taking their first bookings at a specially made chapel.

Now that the official paperwork has been completed, the Beach Chapel will be open for weddings between April and October.

The Bournemouth Beach Chapel is the first in the UK to be able to offer couples the opportunity to have a legally binding marriage ceremony on the beach. It is hoped they will be able to lure couples to celebrate their nuptials locally rather than flying off to sunny destinations such as the Caribbean, Maldives and Europe.

In order to comply with UK law, a marriage ceremony must be conducted in a “permanent covered building”. This caused a debate over whether or not the beach chapel met these guidelines and delayed its approval.

Nevertheless, the official green light has finally been achieved. Packages start from as little as £999, making a Bournemouth beach wedding substantially more affordable than a beach wedding abroad, not to mention the cost of having to fly guests to a chose resort.
