Kate Moss to Marry in Style This Weekend

Kate Moss is set to marry musician Jamie Hince in a three-day affair at her 10-bedroom Cotswolds country estate this weekend.

The nuptials will be reasonably small by supermodel standards, with guests numbers reported to be around the 150 mark. Famous names in attendance will include Stella McCartney, Daphne Guinness, Amanda Harlech, and Naomi Campbell.

There will also be a host of famous musicians performing live for the occasion, such as The Rolling Stones, Shirley Bassey, Iggy Pop and Snoop Dog.

Following much debate, a prominent fashion industry insider who knows Moss well has said that the bride will wear a wedding gown created by her friend John Galliano, the famous designer who is currently on trial in France for allegedly making anti-Semitic remarks in a restaurant earlier this year. He too is expected to attend the special occasion

The Daily Telegraph has rumoured the catering for the event to include Keith Richards’s shepherd pie and Steve Tyler’s Thai curry. Drinks will by inspired by The Jamaica Inn in the Caribbean, Moss’s favourite hotel.

A further rumour indicates that the official photographer will be Mario Testino, to be published on the cover of Vogue’s September issue.

Ugly Betty Star Marries Long Term Boyfriend

America Ferrera of ‘Ugly Betty’ fame married boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams on Monday night in upstate New York.

The intimate wedding took place on the lawn at the Chappaqua home of Ms Ferrera’s co-star Vanessa Williams. She was clothed in an Amsale’s Christos wedding dress along with Fred Leighton earrings for the special day.

The ceremony was officiated by actress Judith Light and the small group of family and friends who attended included Rebecca Romijn, Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn and Jerry O’Connell.

The couple met while they were film students at USC and have been living together since 2007. Ms Ferrera and Mr Williams first announced their engagement last June.

The 27-year-old Emmy-winner elected not to slim-down for her wedding as would most brides – and she looked lovely. While Ms Ferrera is known for keeping her private life under wraps, she has always been outspoken about her weight, saying: “I don’t really think about it to be honest. It’s not hard to ignore, because I find it all so ridiculous.”

Poll Reveals Interesting Bridesmaid Truths

A nationwide poll has named Gok Wan as Britain’s favourite wish list bridesmaid, beating runner up Pippa Middleton. The least likely celebrity to be chosen as maid of honour was Angelina Jolie.

A quarter of bridesmaids were found to spend between 21 and 30 hours preparing for their role. They are expected to counsel the bride, organise a lavish hen party, help find the perfect wedding dress, arrange flowers and in many cases even pay for their own shoes.

The survey had some controversial findings – as many as one in five brides wanted their bridesmaid to be single and child-free, while 38% preferred their bridesmaid to be on the younger side (19-25 years old).

The poll also found that a third of those surveyed voted the ultimate bridesmaid mistake as stealing the bride’s spot light on her special day, while nearly a quarter of brides (23%) were most worried about their bridesmaid starting an argument.

In addition, only one in ten brides was keen to hear the honest truth from their bridesmaids.

Prince Albert of Monaco to Wed This Week

Son of the Hollywood star Grace Kelly and successor to the throne of Monaco, Prince Albert, will wed former Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock this week.

Prince Albert first saw South African Ms Wittstock when she was 22 and competing in a Monaco swimming competition. They bonded over a love of sport and Ms Wittstock moved to Monaco five years ago when an injury ended her swimming career.

Now 33, South African born Ms Wittstock has won a reputation as a fashion symbol, although she is famously nervous about manners and how to dress and talk. She has been taking French lessons, although she is not as yet fluent.

It is hoped that Ms Wittstock will return Monaco to its glamorous golden era when the American star Grace Kelly became crown princess after marrying Prince Rainier.

The wedding in Monaco will entail an opulent two-day extravaganza, with tens of thousands of tourists expected to bear witness to the fairytale “prince and commoner” union.

Prince Albert is set to show off his ‘Green’ credentials by staging the newlywed procession in an open-top electric Lexus.

Hair Tips for Kardashian Wedding

There has been much talk about the preparations for Kim Kardashian’s upcoming wedding to Kris Humphries, and now a famous New York stylist has suggested how the bride-to-be should wear her hair on the special day.

Stylist Alma G. of the Alma Salon in New York City, who boasts clients such as Alicia Witt, Rosario Dawson, Steven Tyler, Ashton Kutcher, and Keri Russell, commented:

“I think Kim would look great with a flamenco dancer-inspired updo,” Alma tells Wetpaint exclusively. “Looking chic at last year’s Emmy Awards, her updo enhances her beauty, dress, and accessories by boasting her features. It is actually a look that is great for all hair types. The hair is blown out for a smooth start. You don’t want a middle part — too dramatic. A side part will soften her look.”

She added: “Or another option is to pull the hair straight back. The secret is to tease the ponytail, and then roll it up into a chic chignon or bun. You want fullness in the bun so it shows on both sides of your neck. Your finish is important: brush the top layer of the bun for a smooth sleek look. A beautiful diamond earring or beautiful hair accessory will also be a great addition for her overall hairstyle.”

Diana’s Brother Earl Spencer Ties the Knot

Earl Spencer has married Canadian philanthropist Karen Gordon in a private civil ceremony this Saturday past. It was held within the grounds of Althorp, where his sister Diana is buried.

The Earl announced the engagement to his new wife earlier this year. Following the marriage, she will now be known as Countess Spencer.

Rather than a lavish affair, the ceremony was attended by a small group of close friends and family that included Prince Charles. His nephews Prince William and Prince Harry were unable to attend however.

Ms Gordon, 38, wore a white fitted lace dress with a sweetheart neckline and lace sleeves. She is a former model and mother-of-two who was previously married to Mark Gordon, the wealthy film producer made famous for such shows as the movie Saving Private Ryan and the TV series Grey’s Anatomy.

Only one official shot was released from the private wedding – it shows the couple posing at the Spencer family home, with the bride holding a bouquet of cream and white flowers.

Paul McCartney Set to Marry New Bride

It was thought that following his nightmare divorce from Heather Mills, former Beatle Paul McCartney would never again tie the knot. But the star has surprised all by announcing his engagement to American socialite and businesswoman Nancy Shevell this year.

The couple have been friends for over 20 years. They began quietly dating in 2007.

McCartney presented Ms Shevell with a vintage 1925 Cartier solitaire diamond worth £400,000 when he popped the question. While the pair have not as yet revealed the exact date for their nuptials, sources have indicated a summer wedding.

Following the official registration in front of the Justice of the Peace with only a small circle of family and close friends in attendance, the low-key reception is due to be held in the Hamptons.

In keeping with her usual style, Ms Shevell is expected to choose a wedding dress that is elegant and simple. It’s also possible that she might enlist her designer daughter-in-law Stella McCartney to create a gown for the occasion.

When asked about it, Ms Shevell said: “Exactly how dressy do you get to stand before a Justice of the Peace in his chambers? Which is exactly what we’re doing.”

Couple Request Cat Donations as Wedding Gift

Vanessa Duggan and Thomas Wood have made an unusual request to the guests who will attend their wedding ceremony at Carr Hall Castle in Halifax this Saturday – the couple requested donations to a rescue charity for cats rather than the traditional types of presents.

Ms Duggan commented: “It would be so wonderful if by celebrating our special day with our family and friends we could also raise a significant sum to help change lives… Knowing we’ve made a difference would be the best wedding gift of all.”

The cat-lovers, of Charlestown, Hebden Bridge, will have a collection box on their special day. They have also set up a page on Virgin Money Giving for online donations ahead of the occasion – well wishers will find it by searching for Vanessa Duggan at www.virginmoneygiving.com.

Haworth Cat Rescue takes in abandoned and stray cats as well as helping people who need to find a new home for their pets because of such issues as illness or eviction.

Ms Duggan added: “The reality is the charity can’t help every person or every cat and kitten that needs them due to lack of money needed to build a bigger centre… The vet bills alone are thousands of pounds each month.”

Lavish Delhi Wedding Defies Congress Calls to Cut Spending

The Hindu marriage ceremony of Lalit Tanwar and Yogita Jaunapuria on Tuesday night at a family farmhouse near Delhi has been reported to have raised the bar in extravagance.

It took 1000 workers 40 days to prepare the venue. The celebration included 100 dishes (no meat or alcohol were served as per Hindu tradition) and 12 giant TV screens to broadcast proceedings.

The exact details of the wedding which united two prominent political families have been fiercely disputed. Some reports say 18,000 guests were in attendance, others put the figure closer to 30,000. The Times of India calculated the total cost of the occasion at $21.68 million, while the Mail Today quoted $55 million.

The groom himself wore a garland made of banknotes and received a helicopter as a gift. His barber was also awarded a $5,500 gift.

The lavish occasion went ahead despite pleas from Sonia Gandhi, the Congress party leader, for government members and affiliates to cut back on spending.

It has also been reported that in addition to the main event, millions were spent on celebrations beforehand.

Playboy Founder Hugh Hefner to Tie the Knot

The 85-year-old Playboy founder Hugh Hefner is set to turn a new leaf by marrying 24-year-old former Playmate Crystal Harris next week on June 18.

Mr Hefner commented: “I wasn’t planning on getting married again but we’ve been together two-and-a- half years and I can’t imagine meeting anyone I’d get on better with. People make so much of the age gap but we have a lot in common.”

The Chicago-born media magnate has been married twice before – the first time to college sweetheart Mildred Williams and then to Playmate Kimberly Conrad. He is more famous however for having numerous girlfriends.

Now that he has decided to settle down, the forthcoming wedding is being hyped in America as “bigger than William and Kate’s”. While the Playboy Mansion attracts more visitors than Buckingham Palace every year, they have opted for a more intimate celebration on their special day.

In total, 300 guests have been invited to the wedding in the Playboy Mansion gardens, with Mr Hefner’s three sons as groomsmen. The bride has confirmed that her gown will be pink.
