F1 Chief’s Daughter Has Ultra Lavish Wedding

Kim Kardashian’s nuptials ten days ago have been outdone by an even more extravagant wedding – Formula One Chief saw to it that his daughter Petra tied the knot in unforgettable style on Saturday, with reports claiming the event cost around £5 million.

Petra, 22, wore a white Vera Lang gown worth around £130,000.

Her and now-husband James Stunt chose the same venue as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes for their special day in 2006 – a beautiful castle in Italy. The bride arrived for the ceremony in a white Rolls Royce.

Guests included the Hilton sisters, Sarah Ferguson and Princesses Beatrice. They were treated to £1million’s worth of vintage wines. Chateau Petrus alone costs no less than £6,500 per bottle.

The entertainment saw the Black Eyed Peas paid £800,000 to perform at the reception. In addition, the multi-day affair also included a caviar and Cristal pre-wedding dinner with entertainment by Alicia Keys.

Petra then continued the bridal theme in another white number as she celebrated a post-wedding brunch in Rome yesterday.

GaGa to Marry in Grand Style and Invite Fans

Flamboyant singer Lady GaGa is reportedly planning to tie the knot with her on/off boyfriend Luc Carl later this year and is also said to be intending to invite her fans to the ceremony.

A source told the Daily Star: “She loves her fans so much she’s determined to have them involved in her big day. She’s organising a lottery guest list so her Little Monsters can see her on her special day.”

They added: “She’s promising it’s going to be a spectacular wedding to remember with more than a dozen bridesmaids, trapeze artists, fireworks and a light show. It will be typical GaGa.”

If the plan goes ahead, she will have the wedding in an arena to accommodate everyone. The rumour is that Lady G wants to celebrate her special day at the 18,000-capacity CenturyLink Center in Luc’s hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. The venue normally stages pop concerts, basketball and ice hockey games.

Apparently, GaGa played there on St Patrick’s Day this year and loved it so much that she thinks it will be the perfect venue for her wedding party.

According to the insider, “She loves her fans so much so she thinks getting married in such a big venue will be an ideal way to thank fans for their support by allowing thousands of them to be there on her big day.”

Branson Wedding Venue Still On Despite Fire

Despite the recent devastation when lightning struck his privately owned island in the Caribbean, Richard Branson is still determined to host his daughter Holly’s wedding to shipbroker Freddie Andrews there in December.

The stunning Necker Island was also the venue for his marriage 22 years ago. While the Branson family and their friends often stay at the idyllic £60million paradise location, it can also be rented for £34,000 a night and has been a choice marriage venue for the well-to-do.

Branson commented: “We have a wedding to celebrate in December and I can’t imagine giving my daughter’s hand in marriage anywhere other than on Necker Island beach.”

In true optimistic style, Branson has vowed to restore the main house to its former glory: “We want to rebuild the house as soon as we can… There’s a lot of damage but we’ll create something even more special out of the ruins.”

Branson has also said that even if the main house is not rebuilt in time, the wedding will go forward, even if it means guests being accommodated in more tents than had originally been planned.

There is speculation that Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge might be among the A-list guests who will attend the upcoming nuptials.

Kardashian Wedding Details Released

The marriage of reality TV actress Kim Kardashian and basketball star this weekend saw a celebrity packed guest list among the 450 people who attended.

Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria, singer Avril Lavigne, movie actress Lindsay Lohan, tennis siblings Venus and Serena Williams and TV/radio presenter Ryan Seacrest, were just some of the celebrities that enjoyed the romantic sunset wedding ceremony on Saturday.

Kim was a beautiful bride in a gorgeous strapless ivory Vera Wang gown which had hand-placed Chantilly lace appliqué on the bodice and was completed by an ‘epic’ train. Her famously lovely locks were swept off her face and adorned with a pearl beaded and bejewelled tiara.

This was only one of the outfits she chose for the special day – E! has revealed that Kim wore no less than three bridal gowns during the course of the event.

Her four sisters all wore ivory dresses which have been compared to those worn by Pippa Middleton to sister Kate’s Royal wedding.

It has also been revealed that the couple celebrated their wedding with a cake that was taller than the bride herself. The six-foot black and white creation is estimated to have cost £9,100 to £12,134.

F1 Ecclestone Splurges on Daughter’s Wedding

Petra Ecclestone has been given a budget of £1.3 million by her Formula One Chief father, Bernie Ecclestone for her upcoming wedding to businessman James Stunt in Italy next week.

Petra, living up to her former title as “the most spoilt girl in Britain” looks set to exceed the already high expectations for the event which is to be held at the 15th century near Rome. This sumptuous location previously hosted the marriage of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in 2006.

Rihanna had previously sung in the celebration of the couples’ engagement. For the big day itself, Eric Clapton has been hired to perform the first song for the bride and groom and the American group The Black Eyed Peas will also be providing entertainment for the night.

A further £40,000 is being spent on a midnight fireworks display on the night of the wedding, and a star studded guest list is expected be in attendance.

As extravagant as the wedding budget is, the cost isn’t likely to worry Mr. Ecclestone, whose £2.4 billion fortune has recently bought his daughter a 57,000 square foot mansion for the estimated price of around £100 million.

Twilight Wedding Dress Replicas Available

One of the most talked about on-screen events of the year is the much anticipated wedding between real life couple Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s characters in the forthcoming film Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

To commemorate the occasion and give fans a chance to experience their own fantasy wedding, designer Alfred Angelo will be selling official replicas of character Bella Swan’s Carolina Herrera designed gown once the film has been released.

The “Edwardian-inspired” dress, which has so far only been briefly glimpsed in a trailer for the movie, will be available at Angelo’s Signature stores in the US.

This is not Alfred Angelo’s first venture into the realms of replica dresses. He has previously collaborated with Disney to produce a range of fairytale gowns and he has also produced a replica of Kate Middleton’s now iconic Alexander McQueen wedding dress.

Other retailers worldwide will soon also be stocking what is bound to be a highly sought after garment.

Price details of the replica wedding gown have yet to be released, but estimates have put its value at anywhere from £300 to £3,000.

Busy Weekend for American Celebrity Weddings

August is traditionally a popular month for tying the knot, and a host of American stars have chosen this time to walk down the aisle.

Actress Tara Reid surprised fans with an unexpected wedding in Greece this Saturday to Danish businessman Michael Lillelund, just hours after announcing the engagement via her Twitter page.

The American Pie and Big Lebowski star had previously been engaged to Carson Daly and entrepreneur Michael Axtmann. She is in the news these days for being thought soon join Pamela Anderson and other star contestants in this year’s Celebrity Big Brother.

In addition, this weekend saw former Baywatch star David Charvet wed Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke under the moonlight on a boat in St. Barts, after a five year engagement.

Joined by their children, this is the first marriage for David and the second for Brooke, who had previously been married to plastic surgeon Garth Fisher.

And while a date has yet to be set, Heather Locklear has recently announced her engagement to actor and long time boyfriend Jack Wagner, who she has been dating since 2007.

Heather, who has previously been wed to rockers Tommy Lee and Richie Sambora, has been seen wearing a stunning diamond on her ring finger and is said by a friend of the couple to be “In it for the long haul with Jack.”

Michael Winner Set to Tie the Knot at 75

Film director and food critic Michael Winner is to marry Geraldine Lynton-Edwards, his on-off girlfriend of over 40 years. The announcement ends his reign as Britain’s most confirmed bachelor.

Winner, who has previously been romantically attached to Jenny Seagrove and Jill Ireland, met his bride-to-be in the 1960’s after she auditioned for a role in his debut film, The Square.

The couple then embarked upon an on-off relationship, but it was only in 2002 that the pair got more serious, with Geraldine moving into his 47 room Holland Park mansion.

Originally engaged in 2007, the notorious man-about-town Winner had warned his partner: “Don’t hold your breath for marriage.”

When asked about the change of heart, Winner commented: “Michael [Caine] said if I got down on one knee I’d never get up. It just suddenly happened, after nine years together. We had a conversation and that was it. It was something she wanted and I wanted.”

The wedding, planned as a low key event with a few close friends and family, is to be held in Chelsea with Michael and Shakira Caine set to be the witnesses. The couple are then planning to honeymoon in Portofino.

September Vogue Scoops Moss Wedding Details

The September issue of Vogue will finally unveil the details of one of the trendiest weddings this year – Kate Moss’s marriage to Kills rocker Jamie Hince in July.

Supermodel Kate will discuss why she chose John Galliano to design her wedding dress, as well as how the event was inspired by British TV show Big Fat Gypsy Weddings, which follows real-life gypsy women that are planning to tie the knot.

Kate commented to the publication: “I am so romantic about gypsies. You can’t believe the dresses. They’re like blinging butterflies times ten; they can’t move down the aisle! It’s so genius.”

The overall theme of the occasion, attended by 138 guests at St. Peter’s Church in the Cotswolds, had a 1920’s tone. It was completed with 16 bridesmaids and flower girls, a carnival tent plus tepees for the children.

The 37-year-old also commented on the planning of the wedding: “The details are intense. I’ve gone mental. I wanted it to be kind of dreamy and 1920s, when everything is soft-focus. That light and that kind of fun decadence. It’s rock-’n'-roll Great Gatsby!”

Man Proposes While Dressed as Dancing Carrot

A Chinese man has become an Internet sensation following an unforgettable wedding proposal.

On the Chinese equivalent of Valentine’s Day, Pang Kun and 48 of his friends, all dressed as carrots, gathered at a public square in the north-eastern city of Qingdao.

Footage broadcast on Liaoning TV shows the dancing carrots performing joyously infront of a bemused crowd. They could also be heard saying: “Six months ago I met you. I still remember your shyness on our first date, my longing for the next date, and my excitement the first time I held your hand at the movie theatre.”

The crowd soon joined in, chanting “Marry him, marry him.”

Mr Pang then unmasked himself and proposed to his embarrassed girlfriend Zhang Xinyu, who rewarded his efforts by accepting the unusual marriage request.

He told journalists that the entire stunt took three weeks to prepare and cost him 100,000 Yuan (£9,500).

The bizarre event has become one of the most searched terms on the Asian Baidu portal. Web users have fondly dubbed Mr Pang “Brother Carrot”.
