A shaven headed Jake Gyllenhaal served as groomsman at his director father’s recent intimate beach wedding to Kathleen Man on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.
The bride, who is also a film maker, wore a traditional white linen dress to tie the knot with Jake’s father Stephen Gyllenhaal.
Jake chose a casual look with khaki trousers and a brown shirt for the informal ceremony. It was attended by about 30 guests, who kept with the island theme by wearing traditional Hawaiian wreaths, known as Leis, which are worn as a symbol of affection, love or friendship.
Also in attendance was Jake’s actress sister Maggie Gyllenhaal, who wore a long floral dress to witness her father tying the knot.
The Hawaii location was of special significance to the bride, who had attended the Punahou School there and is a native of the island.
Stephen had separated from Jake’s mother and wife of 32 years Naomi Foner, who also works in the film industry, in 2009. He is best known for directing the Emmy nominated “Paris Trout”, which starred Dennis Hopper, Barbara Hershey and Ed Harris.
